SpaceX Targets Orbital AI Computing Tests by Late 2027
SpaceX plans to begin initial demonstrations of space-based AI computing infrastructure by late 2027, ahead of the commercial deployment timeline outlined in its IPO documents.
The first missions would use demonstrator systems to validate the technology before a wider rollout. SpaceX has requested regulatory approval for up to one million data-center satellites, while the economics of the project depend heavily on Starship reducing the cost of transporting hardware into orbit.
