Private equity market in Q1 2022 performed weaker vs. Q4 2021 (-13% QoQ), but held up compared to Q1 2021 (7% YoY).


Only Seed stage funding was showing growth in volume (but decreased in # deals). Exit values dropped as well.

There are many signs of a funding shortfall for startups, but large rounds are still out there and new unicorns pop up: 129 in Q1 2022 against 146 QoQ and 132 YoY.

▪️~$39B — amount of funds raised

▪️$416M — largest round (Series G) in May 2022 — Faire, online wholesale marketplace (USA, e-commerce).Tech investors are betting there is money to be made with digital solutions for small businesses.
